About BursaryZA

BursaryZA is an independent aggregator of South African student funding and early career opportunities. We do not run any bursary, fund any award, or receive applications - we collect what is already published, organise it clearly, and send you to the official site to apply.

What we do

Finding funding in South Africa is hard not because there is too little information, but because it is scattered, inconsistent, and often out of date. BursaryZA brings bursaries, internships, learnerships, and scholarships into one place with the detail that actually decides whether you apply: who funds it, who qualifies, which documents you need, the closing date where we can confirm it, and a direct link to the official application page.

We cover four kinds of opportunity. Bursaries are study funding for tuition, books, and living costs. Internships are workplace experience placements for students and graduates. Learnerships are accredited earn-while-you-learn qualifications. Scholarships are merit- and need-based study awards. Each listing follows the same structure so you can compare opportunities quickly rather than re-reading a dozen different formats.

Where our information comes from

Our listings are compiled from publicly listed South African opportunity sources - SETA and government careers portals, established education and bursary directories, and student opportunity sites that publish this information openly. We read those public pages, normalise the details into a consistent format, remove duplicates, and link back to the original source on every listing. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any funder, university, SETA, or government department.

Our freshness and accuracy policy

Our database is rebuilt daily so the opportunities you see reflect what our sources published most recently. We deliberately do not invent or guess closing dates: when a deadline cannot be confirmed from a source, we say so plainly rather than show you a date we cannot stand behind. Opportunities whose dates we cannot verify, or that appear to have expired, are kept out of search engines and our sitemap.

Even so, the official application page is always the final word. Funders extend, bring forward, or close applications early once they reach a target number, and eligibility rules and required documents change without notice. Always verify the deadline, eligibility, and document requirements on the official site before you apply.
